The:101 was created in 2002 by Sally Whittle, a former features editor at Computing magazine. Sally has been a freelance journalist since 2001 and has read more press releases than she ever thought possible.
The idea for the:101 is simple: we provide you with practical, effective techniques for selling stories into the media. That means showing you the tips that work, and the pitfalls to avoid.
At a 101 workshop, you'll hear from experienced journalists what they're really looking for, along with ideas on how to present story ideas to boost your chances of coverage.
